John Lisi
(New Orleans, LA)
“The future of New Orleans music is, like the future of any cultural scene, largely dependent on synthesizing all the elements that are already present. That must make John Lisi and his Delta Funk crew prophets or something, because their mix of local roots music is so seamless as to be uncategorizable. Meaning, someone needs to hurry up and give what folks like John Lisi do a name, so that people like me can talk about it…. Whatever you call it, Lisi and his band only seem to get better at it….” - Robert Fontenot, Offbeat Magazine.
Delta Funk is the title that John Lisi and his band have earned for themselves, and their unique blend of rock-jazz-blues music has been developed out of the influences of legendary musicians including Louis Armstrong, Jimmy Hendrix, and Carlos Santana. With a genre of their own, this band of talented musicians offers a one-of-a-kind performance.
