Hudspeth and Taylor are a three time Blues Music Award and five time Blues Blast nominated duo out of Kansas City.

Brandon Hudspeth and Jaisson Taylor started playing music together in 1998 with various bands in the Kansas City area but it wasn’t until 2014 when they decided to participate in the International Blues Challenge as a duo. They ended up being picked to represent Kansas City in Memphis, TN for the 2014 IBC where they advanced to the semi finals.

In 2020 the duo recorded their debut album “Folie a deux” which maintained a #1 charting spot on the Roots Music Report for over a month, earned numerous accolades and award nominations including the “highest honor given to blues musicians,” the Blues Music Award, and led to many revered gigs including the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise #37.

Their 2023 release “Ridin’ the Blinds” was the #1 Acoustic Blues Album on the Roots Music Report for 3 months, was nominated for 3 Blues Blast Music Awards, and a Blues Music Award among many other accolades.

In 2025 they released a live album “Kimuziki, Live in Des Moines” which had a #1 single on the Roots Music Report and is currently nominated for a Blues Music Award.

Hudspeth & Taylor take pride in playing music in the styles of the Delta Blues, Hill Country Blues, and Piedmont Blues with a very original and modern approach.
